"Dear Leonid Kharitonovich!
On behalf of the people and the leadership of the Republic of Abkhazia I cordially congratulate you on the Day of recognition of South Ossetia as a sovereign and independent state.
The peoples of South Ossetia and Abkhazia bind truly fraternal relations that have passed the test of time. We won the Georgian aggressor, broke the deprivation of the postwar years, the constant threats to security and the external pressure and have reached a fair goal - recognition of our state by the Russian Federation.
August 26, 2008 was crucial for every inhabitant of Abkhazia and South Ossetia.
Internationally recognized and sovereign Republic of South Ossetia shows an example of a dynamic, peaceful and democratic state, creating conditions for a stable and secure future of its citizens.
I am convinced that we will continue to make joint efforts for strengthening fraternal relations between our peoples, develop mutually beneficial cooperation and strengthen our alliance with the Russian Federation.
