President of Abkhazia held a meeting with the delegation of the Federation Council of the Federal Assembly of the Russian Federation

 Opening the meeting, President noted the importance of cooperation between the Republic of Abkhazia and the Russian Federation. "All those relations that developed after the recognition of Abkhazia by Russia are important for us. Those documents that were adopted at this stage are the most important component for our state to become a real ally, a strategic partner of Russia. 

 To date, it is very important for us that the topic of security and defense issues is being implemented.  It is impossible not to note the situation that arises in the part of the borderline issue. The activity of the border units of the Russian Federation led to a positive trend in the situation on the border between Abkhazia and Georgia. The number of violations decreased, especially after we decided to close those posts that existed for a certain period of time. Today there are practically no violations of the border, Russian border guards themselves will confirm this. There is an active work in cooperation with the State Security Service. There are developments, and I have no doubt that this will give even greater results in the future. Work on the marine site is visible. It positively affects the republic.
 
 And, most importantly, it was said at the last meeting with the President of the Russian Federation, we are provided with security issues. We have a guaranteed quiet life. The issues that are being resolved jointly with the 7th military base and border divisions help Abkhazia to develop and resolve the issues of a sovereign independent state recognized by Russia and a number of other states.
 
 I would like to note one more topic, which for us was very important and necessary. These are issues related to compulsory health insurance. Here the activity of the Federation Council, the active assistance of colleagues led to the fact that we were given the opportunity to sign the corresponding agreement. Our population will have an even greater opportunity to solve the problems of medical provision. I want to once again express my gratitude to you for your active participation in solving the tasks faced by Abkhazia, your assistance on many issues is very important for us, " - said Raul Khajimba.
 

 For his part, head of the delegation of the Federation Council, first deputy chairman of the Federation Council Committee on Defense and Security, Yevgeny Serebrennikov, thanked President of Abkhazia for the meeting.
 
 "Dear Mr. President, first of all, on behalf of the delegation, I want to express my gratitude for the opportunity to visit Abkhazia, to meet our colleagues in the Parliament in order to once again continue to designate solutions to the problems that we are considering in the framework of the inter-parliamentary group for already nine years. Today we have an archive of protocols, where the issues that are being solved are reflected. It is satisfying that most of them found a solution. As part of the work of our commission, the work is a bit broader - it is monitoring the legislation as a whole. The questions of how the treaty on our alliance is being implemented, what is the legislation in the development of this treaty. In parallel, we carry out monitoring of the mission of armed forces located abroad of the Russian Federation. Therefore, yesterday we visited the units and departments of the border guard service of the FSB of Russia on the territory of Abkhazia. Tomorrow there will be our work at the 7th military base and training ground - the analysis of all existing problems, including the legislative plan. That's the whole complex of problems with which we are here on the territory of Abkhazia, " - said Serebrennikov. 

 At the same time, he stressed: "We are ready and fully focused on future achievements for the sake of the progress and prosperity of our states."
  
At the end of the meeting, President of the Republic of Abkhazia Raul Khajimba and First Deputy Chairman of the Federation Council Committee on Defense and Security Yevgeny Serebrennikov exchanged memorable gifts.
