President Raul Khadjimba met with the leaders of independent media of Abkhazia

<i>They discussed issues of state support for independent (private) media of Abkhazia, as well as the problems of development and strengthening of the Abkhazian media space.</i><br>

<b>Sukhum. April 22. Apsnypress. </b>President stressed that there is a need for state support of the independent media, which is an important institution of a democratic society. <br>
 <br>
 The Private media is in a difficult economic situation, because there are no developed mechanisms for their access to financial support, in particular, to grant subsidies. World experience, including the experience of the countries of the European Union and Russia, proves the liability of the State for the development of the national media space, which presupposes the use of budgetary subsidies of private media mechanisms. <br>
 <br>
 Under the conditions of Abkhazia, this task is complemented by the State's obligations to develop media segment on abkhaz language.<br>
 <br>
 A key condition, as emphasized the President, shall be the full non-interference of the state in the editorial policy of independent media. <br>
 <br>
 The meeting participants discussed the specific mechanisms of state support for independent media. <br>
