The head of state reminded that in accordance with the Decree of the Cabinet of Ministers of 28 December 2010 "On the transfer for free unlimited use of historical and cultural heritage" Monastery of St. Simon the Zealot, and temples in the territory of the monastery and New Athos, handed over for free unlimited use to Pitsunda and Sukhum Eparchy APC. The President stressed that the rights of the user for specified territories and possessions belong to the APC, and that this decision can not be questioned.
At the same time, Raul Khadjimba drew attention to the fact that in dealing with this issue existing sentiments of society should be taken into account. "We should prevent the collision of our citizens on religious grounds - it is very dangerous and can lay the foundation of instability for a long time. Therefore, no matter how difficult the talks and meetings are, they should be continued ", - said the President.
The Head of State drew attention to the settlement model, which implies the inclusion of the Holy Metropolis of Abkhazia into the APC, and called on Dorofei and his supporters to consider the option of settlement. "From our side we will do everything to contribute to the solution of this issue", - said Raul Khadjimba.
Priest Vissarion Apliaa said that negotiations are continuing for a long time. The APC proposed various solutions to the issue. "We had to compromise to find a canonical solution. But for now, to our regret, there are no results", - added Vissarion.
Khadjimba expressed his commitment to the legal settlement of the church issue in Abkhazia.
