President's Press Service: Requirements for early resignation and early election of President contradict the Constitution and electoral legislation

Commentary by the Presidential Press Office.

Sukhum. October 31. Apsnypress. The press service of the President of Abkhazia commented on the statements made at a public meeting in Sukhum.
 
 The comment says:
 
 “At a meeting of the public held at the initiative of the opposition on October 30, 2018, the familiar rhetoric addressed to the government sounded again.
 
 Speakers presented the situation in the country only in a negative light, in order to once again voice the demand for the early resignation of the Head of State.
 
 Blaming the President for the inability to effectively exercise his powers, the absence of public order and non-compliance with the laws, the opposition leaders themselves admit the possibility of "protest actions and acts of disobedience." The voiced demands for early resignation and early elections contradict the Constitution and electoral legislation. Such a formulation of the question and attempts to force events can in no way contribute to social and political consensus in the country.
 
 The election campaign which starts in terms determined by constitutional norms cannot affect the holiday season, since the presidential election is an inevitable political process of any democratic state, that does not depend on seasons.
 
 I would like to recall that the presidential elections in 2011 and 2014, as well as the referendum initiated by individual opposition forces, were held in the summer period and did not affect the holiday season.
 
President has repeatedly stated the need for all political forces in the country to act in strict accordance with the Constitution and current legislation. ”
