President to the citizens of Abkhazia: let's stop to split our society and undermine the foundations of the state

Address of the President of the Republic of Abkhazia Raul Khadjimba to the citizens of the country.

 "Dear compatriots!
 
 I am appealing to you to express my gratitude for your patience and wisdom.
 
 There was a referendum on early elections of the President of Abkhazia yesterday. We, in spite of all the existing political differences, were able to show tolerance to each other.
 
 Step by step we are overcoming the crisis. The leadership is making every effort to do so, but I must inform you that in the first place - it is a merit of all the people of Abkhazia!  

 Yesterday, at 7 o'clock in the morning, throughout the country there were opened polling stations, and I declare with full responsibility that  the government agencies provided all the conditions and complied with all legal standards for free expression of every citizen of Abkhazia.
 
 The people have made their choice, and I urge all political forces of the republic to respect it and do not create new prerequisites for the destabilization of our society.
 
 Yesterday, the lenses of the world media were focused on Abkhazia we were closely watched in the world. And we have demonstrated our surrounding community, and most importantly, to ourselves, that we are able to solve complex public issues in the legal line.
 
 It is important to understand that each overcoming crisis makes us stronger.
 
 These were difficult months for our country and our people, but we have taken this step, and we need to think about tomorrow.
 
   There is a lot of work ahead. We do not divide people into friends and foes, advocating for cooperation in all areas of the state activity. We are ready to accept constructive criticism.
 
 One man will not build a prosperous state, each of us ust participate in its construction, conscientiously fulfilling our obligations to the state and society. The leadership is working for the people and in the name of its well-being.
 
 Let's stop to split our society and undermine the foundations of the state, let's step by step build its bright future".
