President: volunteers came to us to declare to the world their decisive “no!” to georgian aggression

August 15 is a Volunteer Day in Abkhazia.

Sukhum. August 15. Apsnypress. A gala event dedicated to Volunteer Day was held at the Gudauta House of Culture.
 
 President of Abkhazia Raul Khazhjimba congratulates volunteer soldiers and veterans:
 
 “Historically, the fate of our fraternal peoples has evolved in such a way that when an external threat loomed over them, a sense of unity, consanguineous and spiritual kinship became the most reliable shield against any aggression. And this great call of blood, indestructible Caucasian spirit powerfully worked, as before, in August 1992, when a great misfortune fell on peaceful Abkhaz land. In defense of the freedom-loving Abkhazia, which entered into an unequal battle with the Georgian occupying forces, all the peoples of the North Caucasus, numerous representatives of foreign diasporas, Cossacks of the South of Russia, soldiers of the Transnistrian Moldavian Republic stood up. You, our dear brothers, have come to us through thorny mountain paths, other difficult paths to overcome, to stand by and firmly declare to the whole world your decisive “no!” to Georgian aggression and vandalism!
 
Eternal memory to the volunteer soldiers who have laid down their heads in the struggle for freedom and independence of the Republic of Abkhazia! May the Union of valiant defenders of Abkhazia grow stronger, hardened in fierce battles against Georgian armed hordes!
