President: we need to save our country for our children and grandchildren, and to justify the trust of the guys who gave their lives for Apsny

Address of the President of the Republic of Abkhazia Raul Khadjimba to the people.

Sukhum. July 6. Apsnypress. The appeal says:
 
 "Dear fellow citizens!
 
 Today, when our country is in a difficult situation, I want to appeal to you.
 
 Today we are standing at the edge, followed by chaos and degradation. Those actions, which were made by some political and social parties, aimed at destabilizing the situation, which, ultimately, can lead to the destruction of our state, for which we paid a bloody price.
 
 We face a very serious problem - the struggle for power by forces who for many years felt at ease in Abkhazia on the background of lawlessness, permissiveness and corruption. Today, they are trying to provoke unrest in the country, manipulating such universal concepts as freedom of choice, freedom of expression. It has nothing to do with our traditional notions of democracy. It is unusual for our people to struggle for power, for position, using dirty technologies, hysterical attacks and false accusations. Moral restrictions are removed, and all means are good.
 
 People who recently had committed crimes against the state, act as guardians of the nation and the people, talk about the rule of law and for the sake of their own interests, interpret laws and the Constitution of our country. And some of them, who in the most difficult years for our people holed up behind the backs of the very people who are on the bitter irony of today in the "battle". I deliberately do not mention their names, giving them a chance to change their mind.
 
 I am accused today that the reforms remained promises, that the crime situation has changed for the worse, the economic situation deteriorated. I do not intend to make excuses - those who do not wish to see positive trends emerging in our country - will not see them ever. These people are simply unpleased with the fact of positive changes. Because they are not interested in the country - they need only power, and for the sake of this they are willing to ruin the budget, defend the interests of thieving officials in the courts to justify corrupt deals. These people forget that recently they carried out the giant construction projects in our country and transferred the stolen money from the people in the offshore zone. Instead of developing the real sector of the economy, they built a beautiful facade, behind which - there were impoverished people and desolation. But at the same time, they did not forget about themselves. It is difficult to hide something in our country.
 
 I will not argue with this category of people, lead the statistics, my mission to the ordinary people who work in good faith, and experience all the hardships of a very difficult time - the formation of our country.
 
 Experiencing tremendous resistance, and sometimes even sabotage, we still are establishing order in the economic sphere, we prove to the world that we not only want, but also can live on our own expenses, that our once unprofitable resorts, which were in debt and unpaid loans, may be profitable. But this requires a break of stereotypes, expanding of views in the direction of your own country. And again, to believe in your victory, as we believed when the whole world denied us the right to our own way. But we went for it, rejecting not only the petty squabbles, but also serious differences within ourselves, becoming a single organism. And we could not be broken!
 
 But unfortunately, for many years after the war we have formed a wrong attitude towards the state, and indeed, to ourselves, many today are resisting such simple and straightforward things, with which the state should live and be developed. We are weaned from the habit of paying for public services, we are taught to be not ashamed of stealing electricity, and hide  taxes, we have forgotten that every penny paid by us to the budget - are wages, pensions, social benefits, education and medicine, and much more. We alone can guarantee a normal standard of living for our children, the elderly, war veterans, disabled people and ourselves.
 
 Nobody ever will care about our welfare, the prosperity of our country. It is necessary only to ourselves, if we love our country.
 
 Remember how we were rooting for the national team of Abkhazia recently, how sought to win! We froze our hearts in anticipation of another glorious victory of our guys! For a brief moment on this holiday we again become the most common organism that can do anything. Our players did not just win the championship, they forced us to remember who we really are, and why we are on this blessed land. They have awakened our pride, they gave us to experience the delight of unity, gave us the opportunity to substitute the shoulder, which we did with great pleasure in supporting them. We again felt us as unite people! But these were the same people who once again broke into the camp, support certain politicians and forget that our aim is not power, no chairs, but the construction of the country, which was defended at the war. Defended for us! What happened to us?
 
 The initiators of this referendum may not even realize its devastating effects, do not realize that they have become a tool for manipulation. But I agreed to his conduct, despite its questionable legitimacy of ambiguity and inconsistency legislative norms. I repeat once again that I did it for the sake of stability in the society. And because I believe in the people's wisdom. But these my actions have caused a negative reaction from the revanchist forces seeking to return to the previous corruption schemes to plunder the national heritage, natural resources.
 
 I am sure that our wise people will pass through this test with dignity. And warn everyone of any rash and worse - from the well-thought-out provocative actions that could lead to irreparable damage. We need to save our country for our children and grandchildren, and to justify the trust of our guys who gave their lives for Apsny".
