Presidium of the Academy of Sciences of Abkhazia held its first meeting this year

The Academy of Sciences of Abkhazia held its first meeting in 2015. In particular, on the agenda was the election of directors of the two institutions.

Academics had to choose the directors of the two institutions from the ANA - ABiH D.I. Gulia and SIC Balneology and alternative medicine, as well as to approve the Regulation of Science Development Fund, established at the Academy. The meeting was held on Friday, February 20th.

ANA President Zurab Dzhapua said that the general meeting of the collective ABiH D. Gulia as Director of the Presidium of the AHA recommended the candidature of the candidate of philological sciences, laureate of the State Prize G. Dzidzaria Vasiliy Avidzba working on this post for 15 years.

As a result of an open voting V. Avidzba was unanimously elected as the director of ABiH D. I. Gulia.

The Bureau then proceeded to discuss the candidacy of Otar Osiya, unanimously recommended by the SIC team of Spa and alternative medicine for the post of Director of the Centre. According to the results of an open voting SIC Spa Treatment and Alternative Medicine also found a leader for the next five years.

"As for us directly, we intend to launch the jubilee events devoted to the creator of the Academy of Sciences of Abkhazia Vladislav Ardzinba an extended meeting of the Presidium of the ANA, giving it the status and scope of the anniversary conference. Work in this direction is necessary today", - said the president of ANA Zurab Dzhapua.

The organizing committee for the preparation of an extended meeting of the Presidium of the Academy of Sciences of Abkhazia, dedicated to the 70th anniversary of Vladislav Ardzinba, was attended by Z. Dzhapua, O. Bgazhba, Bebia S., R. Dbar, V. Zantaria, M. Lasuria.
