Prime Minister of Abkhazia met with Syrian Ambassador to Russia

Gennady Gaguliya and Riad Haddad coordinated further steps to establish bilateral relations after Syria recognized Abkhazia's independence.

Sukhum. June 27. Apsnypress. Prime Minister of the Republic of Abkhazia Gennady Gaguliya, while in Moscow on a working trip, met with Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Syrian Arab Republic to the Russian Federation Riad Haddad. The meeting was held at the Embassy of the Republic of Abkhazia in Russia. Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary Igor Akhba attended the meeting.
 
 Gennady Gaguliya and Riad Haddad coordinated further steps to establish bilateral relations after Syria recognized Abkhazia's independence.
 
 During the meeting they also discussed humanitarian aid to Abkhazia of Syria, contacts at the level of ministries and signing of interstate and interdepartmental agreements. Haddad assured the Abkhaz side that the leadership of Syria intends to develop relations with Abkhazia.  
 
For his part, Gennady Gaguliya invited the Ambassador of Syria to visit Abkhazia. "Such meetings are very useful, they contribute to development of our friendly ties," - prime minister said.
