RA CCI represents Abkhazia at the exhibition in Greece

International Tourist Exhibition «GREEK TOURISM EXPO» opened in Athens. The Republic of Abkhazia is represented at the exhibition by the RA Chamber of Commerce.

Sukhum. December 4. Apsnypress. The exhibition is organized by «Leader Expo» with the support of the Ministry of Tourism and Shipping of Greece. It is attended by more than 120 travel agencies, as well as representatives from the US, Turkey, Russia and some European countries and the Balkans, which are directly involved in tourism business and the conclusion of agreements in this area.

"We participate in exhibition in Greece for the first time, after the recognition of our republic. It is a friendly country, in particular also because in Abkhazia have always lived representatives of Greek nationality. Moreover, if we look at history, it is the Greeks once established Sebastopolis, Pitius and Dioscurias. Therefore, we gladly accepted the invitation to take part in the exhibition. And most importantly - just could not miss another chance to present Abkhazia at world level", - said President of the RA CCI Gennady Gaguliya.

According to the RA CCI, from the first minutes of the opening, colorfully decorated Abkhazian pavilion which reflected the name of the state, map, state flag, as well as the beauty of the nature of the country, the picture of the historical and contemporary life - has attracted many visitors. People are not only interested in the attractiveness of the Republic for tourists, but also with pleasure taste Abkhazian wines, vodka, smoked meat, cheese, adzhindzhuha, dried persimmons, honey, adjika and other products. Interest caused souvenirs - decorative plates and crocks. Printed advertising - leaflets in three languages, including Greek (especially published for the exhibition), magazines, postcards are of great interest. But special success enjoyed employees of CCI Inara Daurova, Tamila Mertshulava and Maria Katsuba wearing the the national Abkhaz dresses: Visitors ask to permit them to be photographed and ask where they can buy such clothes.

«This is a very expensive event . Only the weight of the exported cargo amounted to 300 kilograms. But no matter what the cost and difficulties, are, we will continue to participate in all exhibitions at which we are invited", - said Gennady Gaguliya.

According to him, regular participation in exhibitions - in Serbia, Germany, Italy, Turkey, Kyrgyzstan, and now in Greece - not only promotes the country abroad, but enhances its image.

"Moreover, recently held in Sukhum, the Abkhaz exhibition of agricultural products and tourism industry of the country, dedicated to the Russian-Abkhazian Business Forum, has prompted the idea to hold an international tourism exhibition in Abkhazia. I am sure that many countries would agree to come, not only to participate but also to get acquainted closer with the country", - said Gennady Gaguliya.
