RA Foreign Ministry considers actions of the Moldavian side against officials of Abkhazia as illegal

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Abkhazia issued a statement.

Sukhum. September 2. Apsnypress. On ​September 1, Acting Deputy Foreign Minister Oleg Arshba at the invitation of the Pridnestrovian Moldavian Republic on his way to celebration of the 26th anniversary of PMR, was detained at the airport in Kishinev by Moldovan border police and then deported.
 
 It should be stressed that the Moldovan authorities were in advance and in accordance with established procedure notified the leadership of Transdniestria about visit of the official representative of the Republic of Abkhazia. However, despite this, in Kishinev preferred to use repressive measures against Abkhazian representative.
 
 This is not the first case of provocative actions undertaken by the Moldovan authorities with regard to officials of Abkhazia. Recall that a year ago, in September 2015, the delegation of the Republic of Abkhazia headed by the vice-president Vitaly Gabniya was removed from the flight and detained for a few hours.
 
 With such unfriendly and uncivilized methods the Moldovan side will not be able to prevent the development of comprehensive relations between the Republic of Abkhazia and the Dnestr Moldavian Republic. By their actions, grossly violating the universal right to travel, the Moldovan authorities demonstrate their commitment to a flawed policy of restrain upon the international contacts of citizens of the states they disliked.
 
 The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Abkhazia strongly protests Moldovan side, considering its actions against officials of the Republic of Abkhazia as illegal and urged the international community and international mediators in the settlement of the Moldovan-Transnistrian conflict, to give an objective assessment of the Moldovan side's actions in order to prevent them.
