Statement of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Abkhazia
Sukhum. April 18. Apsnypress. The RA MFA commented on the "angry" statements of Georgian officials in connection with the upcoming working visit of the Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov to the Republic of Abkhazia. It was said about the "illegality" of the Russian Foreign Ministry's visit to Abkhazia and, of course, about the "territorial integrity of Georgia".
The MFA of Abkhazia considers such "condemning" comments by Georgian officials regarding the visit of Sergey Lavrov to Abkhazia as completely inappropriate.
This working visit of the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation to the Republic of Abkhazia fully meets the character of the Abkhaz-Russian interstate relations and is consistent with the norms of international law. It should be reminded that diplomatic relations between Abkhazia and Russia were established on September 9, 2008.
