RA MFA: we recommend European structures to refrain from using stamps of official Georgian propaganda

The Abkhazian Foreign Ministry commented on the decision of the CMCE on the agenda of "the Council of Europe and the Conflict in Georgia".

Sukhum. May 6. Apsnypress. The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Abkhazia issued a comment on the decision of the Committee of Ministers of the Council of Europe which notes:
 
 "The  Committee of Ministers of the Council of Europe on the agenda of the Council of Europe and the Conflict in Georgia adopted a decision emphasizing Russia's international legal responsibility" as a party of the conflict with Georgia. " Thus, it was recorded that "the conflict is between the Russian Federation and Georgia".
 
 It is a serious disappointment that the Council of Europe is increasingly mastering the rhetoric propaganda of Georgian officials sacrificing its own objectivity and impartiality. Accepting the point of view of only one side, the Council of Europe becomes a direct participant in unlawful actions carried out by Georgia against Abkhazia.
 
 It should be recalled to the Committee of Ministers of the Council of Europe accepting such absurd decisions that the Georgian-Abkhaz war of 1992-1993, as well as the armed aggression of 2008, were initiated by the Georgian side, which is fully responsible for all the consequences of these armed conflicts.
 
 Apparently, the CMCE was imprisoned in false ideas about the events of 1992-1993, as well as in 2008, imposed by Georgian politicians and diplomats according to which Georgia is trying to approve in the international community the idea that there was allegedly no Georgian- Abkhaz conflict, and there was and exists only the Georgian-Russian conflict. Proceeding from this logic, European structures make absolutely unjustified and inconsistent conclusions.
 
 Taking into account the above, the Republic of Abkhazia appeals to the CMCE with an appeal to maintain objectivity when adopting such kind of documents. In addition, we recommend European structures to refrain from using jaded stamps of official Georgian propaganda and turn to alternative and objective sources of information.
 
 We would also like to recall that without recognition of the existing realities in which the Republic of Abkhazia is a really functioning political entity, it is impossible to adequately assess the situation in the Transcaucasian region.
 
 Such a one-sided and biased approach of European structures sympathizing can ultimately lead to the disruption of the Geneva discussions, which are the only international platform designed to facilitate a dialogue between Abkhazia and Georgia".
