In connection with the fact of destruction of historical and cultural heritage, the President of Abkhazia expressed concern about the state of buildings and structures included in the list of state-protected monuments of history and culture.

Sukhum. April 23. Apsnypress. Raul Khadjimba instructed law enforcement agencies to strengthen the control on the Protection of Monuments of History and Culture of Abkhazia and to take measures to bring to justice those responsible.

Ministry of Culture and Protection of Historical and Cultural Heritage of Abkhazia encouraged to develop proposals for improving the system of protection of monuments.

In the near future, these issues will be discussed at a special meeting which will be chaired by Khadjimba.
