Raul Khadjimba: no one should get away with the events that could destroy the country!

RA President Raul Khadjimba informed about the political situation in the country and the outcome of the referendum at a briefing.

Sukhum. July 11. Apsnypress. Elena Poluyan. RA President Raul Khadjimba, opening the briefing stressed that the current in recent months political situation was quite complicated. "Yesterday was a referendum on the president's early election, which was officially declared invalid. The turnout showed that the question posed on the ballot is not relevant to our society".
 
 Later, at a press briefing, Raul Khadjimba called the referendum a farce. In addition, the President stressed: "The claim that low turnout is associated with a referendum boycott, does not correspond to reality. People have simply lost confidence in the initiators and supporters of the event. Our citizens are tired of confrontations. The opposition in recent months claimed that the government would broke the referendum, and, eventually, the day before the meeting, called on all its supporters not to vote. And now you know the referendum results".
 
 Responding to a question of Apsnypress, what conclusions will be drawn on the basis of the political situation and in what format government plans to further co-existence with the opposition, the Abkhazian President said: "The conclusion can be one - to prevent further such events. The opposition had no reason to behave this way. There is a law and it should work! If every time someone will not like this or that action, of the power or a minister, and, as a result, use batons, stones and incendiary mixtures - so we will unlikely be able to build a state. Power is open for discussion. But the conversations that we offer are focused on the state. And the opposition aimed only to get a certain score. It will not be so!"

 Commenting on the opposition bloc to hold a national gathering, Raul Khadjimba said: "To solve the problems of our country with the gathering is impossible. During these days no one won - neither the authorities nor the opposition! We dropped the image of our country! Today, therefore, we have to re-create the conditions to be understood by the world."
 
 At the same time, according to the head of state, with all that there is the reform of the laws required, the main task is to abide them. "The law on the referendum, which, indeed, requires appropriate adjustments, is not a reason to behave this way. Therefore, the questions that were put on the reforms on Parliament - they are ongoing. But they are not important for many, the reforms are absolutely not necessary for the opposition members. It is necessary not only to write beautiful laws, but also to create tools that will implement them ", - said Khadjimba.
 
 Returning to the theme of the event at the walls of the Ministry of Internal Affairs on 5 July, Raul Khadjimba said: "The guilty persons will be punished. There are alredy criminal cases, work is in progress. I think no one should get away with the events that could destroy the country. And those statements which were made by the opposition, including one of the most experienced politician Nugzar Ashuba go beyond ... In accordance with the law, he will be responsible for all that he did! "At the same time the head of state noted the issue of spent on the referendum budget: "The referendum was held, the money is spent. But it is necessary to periodically check, where they disappear. And we will do it!"
 
Summing up the briefing, the President of the Republic of Abkhazia, Raul Khadjimba, said: "We will do everything to not have the repetition of such events. Taking all appropriate measures! The situation is monitored!"
