President Raul Khadjimba received Chief of the Border Guard Department of FSB of Russia in Abkhazia Major-General Dmitry Yudin.
Sukhum. April 18. Apsnypress. Dmitry Yudin reported to the President on the operational situation at the state border of the Republic of Abkhazia and the operational activity of the Border.
They discussed the issue of closing the checkpoint "Taglan" on the state border of Abkhazia with Georgia. "According to the adopted Decree on April 15 by the Cabinet of Ministers, this checkpoint was closed, pedestrian bridge dismantled", - said Dmitry Yudin. He added that in the near future, Russian FSS Border forces will build a fence on this site.
Raul Khadjimba said that the main goal of all services deployed in the border zone, is to create conditions to ensure the safety of the local population.
President stressed that the problems that are solved by Russian FSS Border forces in Abkhazia contribute to strengthening the security of the Abkhazian state.
