Sukhum. November 24. Apsnypress. The commentary says:
"November 24, 2014 me and Russian President Vladimir Putin signed a treaty between Abkhazia and Russia on strategic partnership and alliance.
The Treaty is based on a solid juridical base of our relations, fully meets our general ideas about the development of the Abkhaz-Russian alliance and strategic partnership, mutual international obligations and current realities.
During entered into force on March 5, 2015 Treaty of alliance and strategic partnership fully reflected the qualitative parameters of development of relations between two sovereign states - the Republic of Abkhazia and the Russian Federation.
It is important to emphasize that prepared for the signing the draft Treaty was supported by all social and political forces in Abkhazia. No one questioned the need to deepen and intensify the Abkhaz-Russian cooperation.
Treaty of alliance and strategic partnership aimed at strengthening the sovereignty of Abkhazia by forming domestic sources of development and self-empowerment of our country in various fields. It attaches to a significant boost to the key tasks of the moment - the security of the Abkhazian people, taking into account new global and regional threats and creates additional conditions for socio-economic development, improves the quality of social support for the population of Abkhazia, strengthens the international position of our state.
There was considerable work on the conclusion of a number of sectoral agreements for development of the provisions of the Treaty over the past year. First of all, this agreement in the social sphere is - to co-finance higher wages, pension security, to promote cooperation in the field of health. Almost ready to sign draft agreements in the sphere of defense and law enforcement, in the near future will be approved action plans for the implementation of cooperation in specific areas.
The main thing is that this Treaty increases the responsibility of each party to meet the challenges of bilateral cooperation. We must act as a mature, reliable and responsible partner and ally of Russia in matters of mutual interest.
We reaffirm our commitment to the development of allied and partnership relations with the Russian Federation in accordance with the letter and spirit of the Treaty and all of the legal framework of the Abkhaz-Russian relations".
