Raul Khadzhimba: the Georgian leadership should solve its internal political tasks without trying to involve Abkhazia and South Ossetia

Sukhum. June 24. Apsnypress. President of the Republic of Abkhazia Raul Khadzhimba held a meeting of Security Council in connection with situation in Georgia.
 
 The head of state noted the unacceptability of recent statements by Georgian authorities regarding Abkhazia.
 
 President noted the obvious inconsistency of the "occupation of Abkhazia" thesis being replicated by  President and other officials of Georgia. Raul Khadzhimba stressed that the Republic of Abkhazia is an independent state that develops allied relations with the Russian Federation on a solid legal basis. Relations between the two countries are based on mutual interests and on an equal basis.
 
 “What is happening today in Georgia is an internal political confrontation, the participants of which make attempts to accuse Russia of the current situation. The current leadership of Georgia and the opposition should reject the terms “occupied territories” in relation to Abkhazia and South Ossetia and solve their internal political problems without trying to involve our independent states, ” - President said.
 
 Foreign Minister Daur Kove informed the meeting that during the upcoming International Geneva Discussions round, representatives of the Republic of Abkhazia would raise the question of offensive remarks made by the Georgian parliamentarian to the people of Abkhazia from the rostrum of the Georgian parliament.
