Raul Khajimba met with the Syrian Abkhaz diaspora in Damascus

President of Abkhazia is on an official visit to the Syrian Arab Republic.

Sukhum. 7 September. Apsnypress. Within the framework of the official visit to Syria, President of the Republic of Abkhazia Raul Khajimba met with the Syrian Abkhaz diaspora in Damascus. 

  Head of State addressed greetings to compatriots in Syria.
  
 "Dear brothers, we are proud we have got you. We are proud we have built relations the Abkhazian people have been waiting for many years. Bashar al-Assad took a courageous step recognizing Abkhazia. We highly appreciate these decisive actions.
  
 At the meeting with President we spoke about ways to develop our relations, and I have no doubt that steps to implement them will be taken on both sides.
  
 The unity of the people of Syria and participation of everyone in construction and strengthening of the state will undoubtedly bring long-awaited results.
  
 Having set foot on the land of Syria, we felt warmth and goodness of the Syrian people. Recognition of Syria was the greatest event for Abkhazia. I have no doubt that our friendship will be strong for many years, for centuries, " - President said.
  
 Chairman of the Circassian Charitable Society of Syria Ridvan Bardoko noted that the visit of the President of Abkhazia is a great event for Syria.
  
 "You honored us with your presence. We are grateful to you for everything that you have done for our people who return to Abkhazia, providing them with moral and material support during the crisis that engulfed our country. Thanks to this, our compatriots stay there in prosperity, " - he said.
  
 Janset Kazanba, widow of General Ualid Marchand, noted that the Circassian Diaspora of Syria is taking great pride and enthusiasm with activation of relations between Syria and Abkhazia in many areas.
