Raul Khajimba on the results of meeting in the Kremlin: the work on a number of issues will be continued in the near future

The President of Abkhazia Raul Khajimba informed on the outcome of a meeting with Russian President Vladimir Putin at a briefing.

At the briefing, the President of Abkhazia Raul Khajimba called the most important topics discussed at the meeting with Russian President Vladimir Putin. The head of state has divided them into several blocks. Firstly, it is economic cooperation. Among them: the restructuring of the railway loan, additional capitalization of the National Bank of Abkhazia and, in particular, the expansion of opportunities to extend credit for business matters, the airport reconstruction, as well as additional activities to increase wages.
 
 Second, they discussed issues of development of the electric power of Abkhazia. "The situation is extremely urgent! The level of electricity consumption in the country increases every year. At the same time we are not able to make rational use of energy and do not want to pay for it. But we should understand that tomorrow, when there will arise the question of the suspension of hydroelectric Inguri for repairs on water pipes, how we will receive electricity from the the Russian Federation, and how we will pay for it? "- Khajimba said. Nevertheless, the President assured that "country will not remain without light".
 
 In addition, according to Raul Khajimba, they discussed issues of military cooperation. "We talked about a common defense circuit, which requires appropriate efforts to provide new technical capabilities of the Armed Forces of Abkhazia", ​​- he said.
 
 Also, the two presidents discussed the "borderline subjects, citizenship, ICC". At the same time, Raul Khajimba, said: "The most important thing that no one in any way is not going to pass part of our sovereignty and powers relating to these structures! Once there is no need for such bodies, they are eliminated. But during this time, there are conditions to build up the work of relevant bodies, provide them with technical and financial ability to work".
 
 The Head of State informed on the results of the meeting: "The Abkhaz side hopes that the work on a number of issues will be continued in the near future. On December 8-9 there will be a meeting of the Intergovernmental Commission".
 
 Also, Raul Khajimba noted a number of decisions already taken place. According to him, "the restructuring the railway loan will last until 2030". He explained: "This project, once adopted, to revive the railway, ended with the fact that we find ourselves in quite a difficult situation. Debt - serious for Abkhazia. It is not right to say that nothing has been done. Yes, there are railroad tracks. But you all know well the speed with which it go on. And there is still a lot of work. At the same time, before things start, we need to complete the payment of debt. It is often said that we have 2 billion railway loan. No! With interest - it is a different figure. All of this burden lies on our budget. Almost 900 million rubles were paid on bank, railway loans and our domestic debt for these 2 years".
 
 Regarding the reconstruction of the airport Khajimba informed: "We need to search for structures that are willing to be engaged in this work. And we were assured that such assistance would be rendered".
 
The Head of State separately commented the words spoken by the President of Russia widely discussed at various levels, "it was stated very clearly: in a country where there is no peace of mind, it is difficult to talk about the possibilities of cooperation. Therefore, the Russian President stressed that they are ready to continue to build relations with Abkhazia, and want Abkhazia to be in peace and tranquility. This is the normal position. And there is no need to seek out anything negative! We work in accordance with the documents adopted before us, and in the last period".
