The 7th military base can rightfully be proud of being a worthy continuer of military traditions, heroism and unfading glory, obtained by the price of blood, high self-sacrifice and courage of the liberator soldiers. At present, the personnel of the base honorably fulfill the tasks of protecting the state interests of the Russian Federation and the Republic of Abkhazia by taking the necessary actions to contain military threats and the security of our friendly states. «
For his part, Murat Kumpilov stressed: "The age-old history of the 7th military base is inseparably linked with the victories and achievements of our country in the military business, with the traditions of true patriotism and faithful service to Motherland. The units of the base defended the Black Sea coast during the Great Patriotic War, liberated the Caucasus from the German fascist invaders, took part in the battles for the liberation of Poland and Czechoslovakia. And later they defended the integrity of Russia and fulfilled the task of maintaining peace in Abkhazia. Symbolically, after the Second World War, Maikop became the place of permanent deployment of the division for more than 50 years. Today the 7th military base makes a significant contribution to protection of the state integrity and independence of Abkhazia. This is a very important mission, because preserving peace and stability on the territory of Abkhazia is necessary for all of us. "
