We are grateful to the leadership of Syria, and we talked about this at a meeting with Bashar Assad for the courageous decision to recognize Abkhazia. Our main task today is to continue what was planned at these meetings.
We have seen the heroic struggle being waged by the Syrian Republic and its people. We saw destruction, but we also saw the willingness of the people to heal wounds faster, build their country and develop relations with the outside world.
My best wishes to the leadership and the Syrian .”

For his part, Riad Haddad thanked the President for the reception: “I came to you in order to convey the greetings of the country's leadership, His Excellency Bashar Assad. Your visit has left excellent impressions on our leadership and people. The Syrian leadership constantly says that we support the people of Abkhazia and our direct and friendly relations. And agreements signed during your visit serve as a direct evidence. Our work as Embassies, is to continuously strengthen relations between the two nations and the leadership.
I was very happy to be at the artisan exhibition. This is direct evidence that we are on the right track. Thank you for this meeting and for your visit. I wish your country prosperity and development. "
