President of Abkhazia Raul Khadjimba and Vice-President Vitaly Gabniya met with representatives of the Fund for Support of the wounded in the fighting in South Ossetia from 1989 to 2008, who arrived in Abkhazia to take part in the Victory Day celebrations.
Sukhum. September 29. Apsnypress. Dmitry Basariya. The structure of the South Ossetian delegation includes three volunteer members of the War of Abkhazia Leo Dudaev, Rodion Abaev, David Kudukhov.
The delegation is headed by chairman of the Fund for Support of the wounded in the fighting in the Republic of South Ossetia from 1989 to 2008, Madina Plieva.
The delegation was accompanied by representatives of the Fund of disabled of the War of Abkhazia of 1992 - 1993.
During the meeting with the delegation, Vice-President Vitaly Gabniya offered guests to start mutual projects to elaborate prosthetics for amputees - participants of hostilities in South Ossetia in 1989 -2008 in the center of prosthetics in Gagra, and the passage of sanatorium rehabilitation in Abkhazia.
"We are connected with the South Ossetian peoples by a recent history and one destiny. We have defended the independence by war, now it is necessary to defend peace. Our disability does not give us the right to give up, we must continue our work for the benefit of the younger generation", - said Vitaly Gabniya.
At the reception of the President the delegates thanked Raul Khajimba for the attention and a warm welcome.
According to Madina Plieva, the delegates are going to visit the tomb of the presidents of Vladislav Ardzinba and Sergey Bagapsh and, if possible, to take part in all the events dedicated to the Victory Day.
It is also planned to sign the Agreement on Cooperation with the Fund to support the wounded in the fighting on the territory of South Ossetia from 1989 to 2008, and the Fund for the disabled of the War of Abkhazia of 1992 - 1993.
