Representatives of the Abkhaz leadership expressed condolences to the Ambassador of the Russian Federation in connection with the tragic death of Andrey Karlov

A book of condolences is opened at the Embassy of the Russian Federation in the Republic of Abkhazia.

Sukhum. December 21. Apsnypress. Lana Tsvizhba. Vice-President of Abkhazia Vitaly Gabniya, Prime Minister Beslan Bartsits, heads of ministries and departments expressed their condolences to the Ambassador of Russia to Abkhazia Semyon Grigoryev in connection with the murder of the  Russian Ambassador to Turkey, Andrey Karlov.
 
 Vitaly Gabniya said: "On behalf of the leadership of Abkhazia, the Government and people of the Russian Federation, I express condolences and solidarity in the struggle against the common scourge - terrorism. In the last 23 years we often have faced with similar problems: a couple of years ago there died a Russian diplomat, First Secretary of the Embassy of Russia in Abkhazia, Vice-Consul Dmitry Vishernev. We live in a troubled world and should therefore draw the right conclusions ", - said Vitaly Gabniya.

  For his part, Ambassador of Russia to Abkhazia Semyon Grigoriev said: "Andrey Karlov was associated with Abkhazia. He is well-known in Russian diplomacy. As head of the Consular Department, Karlov did many things for the residents of Abkhazia and certification for the implementation of such difficult actions as moving a large group of immigrants of Abkhaz origin from the Syrian Arab Republic".
 
 According to the diplomat, the murder of the Ambassador of any country is an extraordinary event. "It is very rarely when one can raise a hand to people whose only weapon is a pen and notebook. But when the hand is raised, all the power of the state which was represented by a diplomat who was killed, falls on the head of those who planned this crime. I am sure that the killer of the Russian Ambassador suffer deserved punishment", - said Semyon Grigoriev.
