Representatives of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Abkhazia paid a working visit to the DPRK

The CCI of DPRK and the RA CCI signed an agreement on cooperation.

Sukhum. 20 August. Apsnypress. CCI President Tamila Mertskhulava told about the results of the working visit of the delegation of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of the Republic of Abkhazia to the Democratic People's Republic of Korea at a press conference.
  
 Tamila Mertskhulava reported on the purpose of the visit: "Last year we received an official letter from our colleagues from the Trade Chamber of the DPRK, which spoke of the desire to establish contacts with the CCI of RA, to consider the possibilities for signing the Agreement on bilateral cooperation and officially visit the capital of the DPRK Pyongyang. Of course, we gave a positive response and within six months were preparing for this trip. This was a study tour for us, with the aim of presenting Abkhazia and its economic potential. Since August 14 with a two-day working visit we visited Pyongyang. The delegation of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of the Republic of Abkhazia visited the office of the TC of DPRK , where the official meeting with the chairman of the TC of DPRK took place, within the framework of which we signed the Agreement on bilateral cooperation. I think this will be one more step for the development and expansion of trade and economic relations between the business communities of Abkhazia and the DPRK, considering that the trade turnover between the two republics already exists, and only for 2017 amounted to 5 million rubles, and for the first quarter of the current year - 2 million rubles. This shows the interest in cooperation between entrepreneurs of the two countries. "
 
 The President of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of the Republic of Abkhazia informed about concrete agreements: "The meeting discussed issues of expansion and development of economic, trade and scientific-practical relations. Issues of export of North Korean products to Abkhazia, as well as our wine - to the DPRK, its implementation on a distribution basis were considered. Plans for the establishment of joint ventures in Abkhazia, specifically, the organization of production facilities for the processing of agricultural products and exotic fruits based on Abkhazian raw materials. The subject of export of labor was discussed, which aroused special interest among colleagues. We were offered to use the specialists of the DPRK in the field of IT-technologies to create new programs and introduce them in Abkhazia. In general, there were a lot of questions for discussion. But the most important thing for our country is a very serious breakthrough in the international market. It consists of the fact that Abkhazia was viewed as a full-fledged recognized independent state. DPRK TC more than once noted that Abkhazia in the future can become an ally and trade partner of the DPRK, and for them the arrival of our delegation is a historical event. "

 Tamila Mertskhulava told about the program of stay in the DPRK: "We visited a number of enterprises: a tile factory, the world's largest fruit growing complex, met with entrepreneurs. All the meetings were very fruitful. Also, our colleagues asked to provide a platform for the presentation of products of North Korean enterprises in Abkhazia. We also formally invited our colleagues from the DPRK to our country. They should visit Abkhazia on a working visit this year. "
