The press service of RUE Chernomorenergo commented on the statement of the Minister of Economy and Sustainable Development of Georgia Natia Turnava.
Sukhum. May 14. Apsnypress. The press service of the RUE Chernomorenergo commented on the statement of Minister of Economy and Sustainable Development of Georgia Natia Turnava about the start of work at the Ingur hydroelectric power station.
The comment says:
“On May 13, 2019, during a media visit to the Ingur HES (Jvara Reservoir, Georgia), Georgian Minister of Economy and Sustainable Development Natia Turnava made a number of statements, including the beginning of work of the Georgian side in the Republic of Abkhazia.
Indeed, one of the four HPPs is functioning. The fact that the restoration and modernization of the entire cascade complex is required is not a secret for the power engineers of the two countries. But we want to remind that the Ingur Hydroelectric Power Plant is operated jointly by Georgia and Abkhazia, and all decisions relating to the operation of the facility are made jointly by both parties. The party cannot take any action without the consent of another party in whose jurisdiction one or another object of the Ingur HPP complex is located.
Therefore, we responsibly declare that there is no agreement on the commencement of work announced by the Mrs. Minister in the territory of the Republic of Abkhazia. However, we agree with her words “that it is unacceptable to use this topic for political purposes” and we strictly adhere to this position in our work. ”
