The proposal for assigning the writer's name to the theater was announced by the director of the International Fund of Culture of F. Iskander "Human Site".

Today, on the birthday of Fazil Iskander in order to perpetuate the memory of great writer, by the order of the Minister of Culture and Protection of the historical and cultural heritage of Abkhazia Elvira Arsaliya the State institution "The Russian Drama Theater was named after F. Iskander".
The proposal for assigning the writer's name to the theater was announced by the director of the International Fund of Culture of F. Iskander "Human Site" Shazina Agrba at the presentation of the fund. The idea of awarding the name of Fazil Iskander was supported by the President of RA Raul Khadzhimba, the Board of the Ministry of Culture of the Republic of Abkhazia, the Director General of the RUSDRAM Irakli Khintba and the members of the Foundation.
