Ruslan Ajinjal: One can not mix sport with politics

President of the Football Federation of Abkhazia commented on the failure of football match between "Ararat" and "Volga".

Sukhum. January 28. Apsnypress. Dmitry Basariya. Yesterday, January 27, it was supposed to held a friendly match between the teams of the first league "Volga" (Nizhny Novgorod) and "Ararat" (Yerevan), which was canceled after an appeal of the Georgian Foreign Ministry to its Armenian counterpart.
 
 "The match did not take place for the reason that the team "Ararat " was forbidden to participate in any sporting event in the "occupied by the Russian Federation Georgian territory". I am sure, with this formulation the Georgian state appealed to the representatives of Armenia. I wonder why the Armenian side did not reciprocate the Abkhaz, because we're so friendly to their people. There is the Armenian community in Abkhazia, a considerable diaspora from Armenia, Armenian schools. Representatives of the Armenian people are not only in the number of senior government officials, but also among the heroes who laid down their lives for the freedom of Apsny. The Republic of Abkhazia has officially recognized the Armenian genocide. However, this is not the first time that the Armenian government supports Georgia.
 
 Yes, it's not a football theme, and I'm not a politician, but I would like to hear the reaction of outstanding representatives of the Armenian community in the government to their historic homeland, or at least to the public with a request to leave the sport out of politics", - said FFA President Ruslan Ajinjal.
 
Ajinjal noted that, in turn, leadership of the FFA does not intend to take retaliatory sanctions, in order not to mix sports with politics.
