Russian Ambassador to Abkhazia Semyon Grigoriev has completed his diplomatic mission

The Russian diplomat told about this at a reception of President of Abkhazia Raul Khajimba.

At the meeting with President of Abkhazia Raul Khajimba, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Russian Federation to the Republic of Abkhazia Semyon Grigoriev announced his resignation: "I want to inform you that today in Moscow has been made a decision to complete my diplomatic mission as Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Russian Federation in the Republic of Abkhazia, in connection with the transition to another job. As you know, my appointment as Ambassador of Russia happened right after the historic decision on Russia's recognition of the independence of Abkhazia in 2008, that is almost a decade ago. This is a long time for the country, for the Embassy and for me personally. Words of gratitude to you, dear Raul Jumkovich, to your predecessors at the post of President and to all who helped on early stages of formation of the first Russian diplomatic mission in Abkhazia. My main thanks go to the people of Abkhazia, who received the Russian Embassy with incredible warmth and cordiality. Abkhazia will forever remain in my heart. "

 For his part, Raul Khajimba said: "I am sincerely grateful to you, as the first person who represented the Great Russia in Abkhazia. Recognition of Abkhazia by Russia is an important historic step for us. Bilateral relations that developed over the years were the most active. The people of Abkhazia will have the warmest memories of you, as a man who represented Russia at the stage of first steps after recognition. I wish you success in new fields. "
 
 At the end of the meeting, President of Abkhazia awarded the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Russian Federation to the Republic of Abkhazia with the Order of Akhydz-Apsha I. The Decree noted that the Russian Ambassador was awarded for "a great personal contribution to the development of interstate relations between the Republic of Abkhazia and the Russian Federation."
  
 According to Grigoriev, today he will give a note to the Abkhaz Foreign Ministry with a request of the Abkhazian side for the mission of the new Russian Ambassador.
