Sergey Lavrov: we are interested in supporting the policy of ensuring equal rights for every resident of Abkhazia

President of Abkhazia opening the meeting, said: "Sergey Viktorovich, you are visiting Abkhazia for the fourth time and your last visit was in 2011. Since that time, significant events have taken place in Abkhazia. I think you yourself has the opportunity to see what is happening today in our country. And yesterday's opening of the Embassy is evidence of how Abkhazia and Russia are building relationships".

 Raul Khajimba outlined the range of issues that are planned to be discussed at the meeting. This is "bilateral cooperation on border issues, simplified acquisition of Russian citizenship, socio-cultural development, implementation of the Investment Program". "I hope that our issues will receive further support and permission," the head of state stressed.

 For his part, Sergey Lavrov noted traditional hospitality with which he was met in Abkhazia. "We already started working yesterday. We visited the Russian Embassy, ​​which was put into operation. Indeed, a very good, central place in Sukhum. And very comfortable conditions for our employees. The fact that we have opened such a large Embassy in Abkhazia underscores the allied context of our relations, strategic partnership".

 Lavrov stressed the importance of implementing the agreements that were reached between the presidents of Abkhazia and Russia. "The intergovernmental commission is actively working in the areas that you have mentioned., Its regular meeting took place last November, there was a business forum of Russian and Abkhaz businessmen. They have good plans which our governments actively support".

"We are interested in supporting the policy of ensuring equal rights for every resident of Abkhazia, and for everyone to feel at ease here.
