Chairman of the State Duma of the Federal Assembly of the Russian Federation Sergey Naryshkin congratulated the Speaker of the National Assembly of the Parliament of the Republic of Abkhazia Valery Bganba on the Victory Day.

"I congratulate you and all the people of the Republic of Abkhazia on the great holiday - the Day of our common Victory over the Nazi invaders.
70 years ago, ended the most terrible, the most bloody war for the victory in which we paid millions of lives, thousands of obliterated villages and razed to the ground hundreds of cities.
Our nations were united in their desire to survive and defeat fascism, to liberate their country and Europe from violence, humiliation and slavery. On this sacred day for all of us - May 9, we are close to each other in grief and joy.
With special gratitude and love we remember our fathers and grandfathers, their unparalleled feat in the name of future. I bow before their heroism, courage, selfless devotion to the Motherland. I bow my head before the memory of heroes who died in the holy war for peace and freedom. We honor the feat of rear workers who worked without sleep or rest hastening our victory.
We share grief, common memory and common truth. And we have to save, save these enduring values for our children and grandchildren, to invest in their hearts and minds a sense of pride for their ancestors, a sense of historical kinship of our peoples and the importance of shared thoughts and common hopes.
Fraternal friendship of the peoples of Russia and Abkhazia hardened by ordeals of the Great Patriotic War will always be a strong and reliable basis for further cooperation to strengthen political, economic and humanitarian relations, strategic partnership between our countries.
