Sukhum and Nizhny Novgorod signed a calendar plan of joint activities for 2017

Deputy head of the metropolitan Administration Leon Kvarchia at a press briefing informed on specific events of calendar plan.

In the framework of previous signed agreements on cooperation between Abkhazia and the Nizhny Novgorod region, the Embassy of Abkhazia in Russia hosted a presentation of the economic and cultural potential of Nizhny Novgorod on February 16. During the presentation, Deputy Head of the Administration of Sukhum Leon Kvarchia and his counterpart from Nizhny Novgorod Maria Kholkina signed calendar plan of joint activities for 2017.
 
 Leon Kvarchia informed about planned activities: "Among them are: the exchange of business missions between towns, preparation of pilot investment projects for possible implementation in Sukhum, sharing experience and knowledge courses in the fields of medicine and education in secondary educational institutions. In addition, it provides the organization of summer holidays for Nizhny Novgorod school students in Sukhum, as well as the organization of art exhibitions and cultural events".
 
 In addition, they substantively discussed the possibility of sending volunteers from Abkhazia to the World Cup 2018 in Nizhny Novgorod. "This is a global event, and the guys who go there, get invaluable experience in organizing sporting events of this magnitude", - said the deputy head of the Administration of Sukhum. According to him, in the nearest future the organizers will present the criteria and requirements for the volunteers, after which the town administration organizes their selection.
 
 Kvarchia also noted the importance of development of bilateral cooperation in the tourism sector: "A special focus was placed on the possibility of cooperation in the field of recreation. It was stressed that it is necessary to intensify the tourist flows from Sukhum to Nizhny Novgorod and back. To do this, we need to identify priority steps to revitalize this area".
