Sukhum district is mainly agricultural, but there's enough great tourist potential to be developed, said Khadjimba at a working meeting with activists of the district.

In addition, the President noted the existence of other points of support for the economic development of the area. In particular, the President noted that there are interesting ideas associated with the development of port facilities and transit of goods.

At the meeting was announced intention of the Abkhaz leadership to attract investors for the restoration of a sports complex in Eshera. "We remember that in Soviet times, only Lower Eshera had several tourist sites, starting with the world-famous at the time of the sports complex, which is now in a difficult position. If we are able to realize this project, it will involve residents of the area. This is job opportunity with appropriate wages", - said Khadjimba.

However, he stressed that in order to attract investments necessary to create a favorable investment climate in the country.

"In some ways we can help the representatives of the Russian leadership, but the main responsibility lies on us. It's time to finish with such concepts as "busy", "roof" and "share". All this prevents the normal development of the country", - said the President.

With regards to the increase of pensions and salaries, Khadjimba said that this process will be phased in over three years, "then we will reach a level of pensions and salaries, comparable to the Southern Federal District of Russia. Continued to invest, which, in addition to social projects, will also be focused on the development and production in Abkhazia". The President noted that the Abkhazian business will also get access to concessional lending (it is allocated 1.2 billion rubles).

According Khadjimba, you can not shift the solution to all of their socio-economic problems of Russia. "We are the independent state, and must comply with this status not only in the Constitution, but also in economic opportunities", - he said. According to a comprehensive plan for the development of the infrastructure the Sukhum district will be allocated 72 million rubles. 38 – water, 10- sewer, 24 million - the roads. All programs already drawn up the detailed design and construction documents. This at the meeting said the head of Sukhum district administration Beslan Avidzba.

The district now held inventory of available land, facilities and buildings. "For the first time in the history of Sukhum, district is working on drawing up development programs, which will include activities such as short-term and long-term", - said Avidzba.

Priority area will be the development of agriculture. The plans provide a new citrus orchards, vineyards and plantations of kiwi, also with the help of the Ministry of Agriculture developed a set of measures for annual crops.

"But we can not raise the level of the district's economy in only one agriculture and tourism development must consider. And in this regard we request the highest leadership of the country to provide assistance and support", - said in the conclusion of the head area.
