The Chamber of Commerce and Industry of the Republic of Abkhazia organized a culinary contest "Sweets Celebration" which took place in the banquet hall of the hotel "Inter-Sukhum". Representatives of 23 confectionery enterprises, as well as amateur culinary specialists from all over the country took part in the competition. Everyone could buy, taste and compare confectioners' sweets.

 Vice President of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry Tamila Mirtskhulava informed Apsnypress that the contest of confectioners of the CCI has been held for the fourth year already. "This time we decided to depart from certain rules and call the event not" Confectioner's Competition ", but "Sweets Celebration". The reason for this decision was that we were on the eve of the summer, we wanted to organize the event in a spring, colorful mood. In addition, this time the winner of the contest will be determined by spectators' vote, " - she explained.

 Tamila Mirtskhulava informed about the contest conditions: "Confectioners compete in 3 nominations:" Best Cake ", " Best Cupcake" and "Best Eastern Sweets". The purpose of the event is to support entrepreneurship and confectionery in the republic. "

The participant of the contest, presenting the products under the name "Mamma Mia Cake", Esma Khadzhimba said: "We do not have our own confectionery, we just love to cook. We bake cakes at home and then we sell our products through the Internet. At today's contest we participate in both nominations".

 Another contestant, Oksana Shakhinba, said she participated for the first time. "I was invited before, but I was not ready. This time I decided to take part. And today I participate in the nomination "Best cake", - said the contestant.

As a result of the contest, Oksana Shakhinba won the nomination "Best Cake". In addition, she was awarded the prize of audience sympathy - "The best confectioner of the year".
