Taniya about diplomatic mission of Abkhazia in Italy: we paved a path through which we can move to the EU countries

Deputy Foreign Minister of Abkhazia Kan Taniya told about the results of his working trip to Italy.

Sukhum. December 1st. Apsnypress. Lana Tsvizhba. Deputy Foreign Minister of the Republic of Abkhazia Kan Taniya at a press conference told about the results of his working visit to Italy and the Abkhaz diplomacy activities in this country for the past 2-3 years.
 
 As Kan Taniya stressed, all the achieved results are the result of the painstaking work of the Abkhaz Foreign Ministry. He listed specific successes: "From 2015 to 2017 there was registered the first in Europe Association "Europe-Abkhazia", was opened the Abkhaz Institute in Rome the purpose of which is popularization of the Abkhaz culture, traditions and way of life. In the future, we plan to open courses of Abkhaz language in Italy. There are Italian philologists, students of the philological faculty, who are interested in the Abkhaz language. In addition, we are assisting the representation of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Abkhazia in Italy ".  
   
 Taniya told about the working visit which took place from 25 to 29 November: "Upon arrival in Italy, we were invited to mass in the Basilica of Santa Maria del Pozzo. Mass was dedicated to all Catholics and Orthodox of Abkhazia. During the Mass we were presented a statuette of Madonna del Pozzo, which we will give to Sukhum Roman Catholic Parish. " In addition, in the Basilica Kan Taniya was awarded a certificate "Order of the Holy Sepulcher of the Lord of Jerusalem" for his services in the field of charity. 
   
 Deputy Minister reported on another successful completion of the diplomatic efforts of the Abkhaz Foreign Ministry in Italy. After several years of work, it was possible to register a legal entity with the name: "Diplomatic representation of the Republic of Abkhazia in Italy and concurrently in the EU countries". "We consider this as a great achievement. The bureaucratic registration process was completed. For today we have an Ambassador at Large of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Abkhazia in Italy Vito Grittani. He is a great friend of Abkhazia. " In this regard, Vito Grittany presented Taniya attestat. "Creative diplomatic approaches in the development of relations between the Abkhaz and Italian peoples have been evaluated," - Taniya explained. 
   
 As Taniya said, there was held a press conference following registration of the "Diplomatic representation of the Republic of Abkhazia in Italy and part-time in the EU countries". " There was present local media There were many questions, since very few people know about Abkhazia. We talked about what functions the diplomatic mission plans to perform, " - he said. 
  
 Taniya noted: "We should have the opportunity to provide assistance to our citizens in the EU countries, to hold legal consultations, if necessary. We will not have classical diplomatic opportunities, because Italy has no diplomatic relations. The mission of the diplomatic mission is to promote the popularization of Abkhazia. We will organize social and cultural events - exhibitions, festivals, presentations of books by Abkhazian authors."
 
Summing up the press conference, Deputy Minister stressed: "Diplomacy is a long process. We have built a path through which we will move to the EU countries."
