Sukhum. October 11. Apsnypress. Lana Tsvizhba. A regular 37th round of the Geneva International Discussions on Security and Stability in Transcaucasia was held on October 4-5. The delegation from Abkhazia at the Geneva discussions was led by Acting Deputy Foreign Minister Kan Taniya.

Foreign Minister Daur Kove, opening the meeting, noted that the Geneva discussions is a platform for exchange of views in which Abkhazia can express its positions and arrange the necessary accents.

For his part, the head of the Abkhazian delegation stressed that the main purpose of the delegation's participation in Geneva discussions is the signing of a legally binding document on the nonuse of force between Georgia and Abkhazia. "Unfortunately, once again, Georgia did not agree to sign the document. The Georgian side did not even agree to sign a joint statement of commitment to the non-use of force ", - said Taniya.

Deputy Minister said that they discussed the possibility for population of Gal district to cross the Abkhaz-Georgian border, closing of two checkpoints on the border at the river Ingur, as well as the resumption of the work of the Mechanism to prevent and respond to incidents, which is an additional stabilizing factor in the region.

Kan Taniya told about comments of the Abkhaz side on the reports, which are published by Georgian Foreign Ministry on the situation of human rights in Abkhazia. According to him, there was made a short statement, where it was emphasized that such template reports are "PR stunt" of Georgia. "Thus, we emphasized that these reports are not legal, but only political sphere", - said Taniya.

Deputy minister stressed that the Abkhaz delegation again raised the issue of visas to citizens of Abkhazia. On this occasion, was stated dissatisfaction, especially in situations when Abkhaz organized groups of athletes or dancers are denied in visas. "We do not expect a quick solution to this issue, but some results are already there: a few countries, including the United States, do not prevent the issuance of visas to citizens of the Republic of Abkhazia", - said Taniya.

According to Taniya, also there was made a statement on the Abkhazian security threat during the joint exercises of NATO and Georgia on the territory of Georgia.

In addition, Deputy Foreign Minister noted that Georgia promotes two resolutions. The first - a resolution on Abkhazia and South Ossetia in Human Rights Council, where they are talking about "Georgia's territorial integrity within its internationally recognized borders". The second - resolution "on the forcibly displaced persons", Thus Kan Taniya explained that the Human Rights Council does not deal with the status of the state, but with the filing of Georgia, there was made an attempt to adopt this resolution. And in the next 33rd session the draft resolution still will be discussed. "We made it clear that the use of all international platforms, without the participation of the views of the Abkhazians and South Ossetians, is fraught with disruption of the entire negotiating process. Therefore, in Geneva we reject to conduct a dialogue on these issues ", - summed up Taniya.
