The Plenary Session of the Seventh World Abkhaz-Abazin Congress continues.
Sukhum. 7 December. Apsnypress. Madina Chagava. Opening the Plenary Session of the Seventh World Abkhaz-Abazin Congress, President of the Congress Taras Shamba welcomed the participants of the Congress:
"The establishment of the international Abkhaz-Abazin Congress was a far-sighted step by our legendary leader Vladislav Ardzinba in hard 1992, on the square of Lychnashta, which united the Abkhazians living in diaspora and homeland, Abazin and brother nations, as the most powerful defense against the enemy. The main today's goal of the Abkhaz-Abazin people is the preservation of their national identity for future generations. This goal can be achieved by joint activities of our people. As you know, when there was an attempt to seize our state we united and were able to confront the threat, drive out the enemy and achieve independence. "
Vice-President of the International Association of the Abkhaz-Abazin people Jemaletdin Ardzinba noted the main role of the Abkhaz-Abazin people, as well as the two presidents of Abkhazia - Vladislav Ardzinba and Sergey Bagapsh, in upholding freedom and independence of Abkhazia, preserving and developing language, culture and demography. He stressed: "We must always remember the fighters who have laid their heads for the freedom of our historical homeland."
Professor of the Abkhaz State University Sariya Amichba read out the welcome message from Plenipotentiary Representative of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Abkhazia in the FRG Hibla Amichba to the participants of the Congress which noted the need to address the problem of international isolation of Abkhazia.
Hibla Amichba proposed to conduct a worldwide census of the Abkhaz-Adighe diaspora. And the first step to this is the already created website of the World Census of the Abkhaz-Adygea Diaspora, which will function in several languages and constantly replenish with information about the Abaza, Abkhaz and Circassian peoples.
