The Academy of Sciences of Abkhazia and Yakutia signed an Agreement on Cooperation

The President of the Academy of Sciences of Abkhazia Zurab Japua is on a working trip to the Republic of Sakha (Yakutia).

Within the framework of the working trip to the Republic of Sakha (Yakutia), president of the Academy of Sciences of Abkhazia Zurab Japua signed an agreement on cooperation between the Academies of Sciences of Yakutia and Abkhazia. From the side of the RS, the document was signed by the President of the Academy of Sciences of the Republic Igor Kolodeznikov.

 As the message states, the agreement is intended to strengthen interaction between academies in the field of science, new technologies and innovation.
 As noted at the signing ceremony of the agreement, "both republics prioritize the sphere of the humanities, since the peoples of Yakutia and Abkhazia have a rich history and culture, and despite the geographical distance between the subjects, the presidents of the republican academies have found common ground for further cooperation".
  
 It is planned that the cooperation area will include general issues faced by science, which are interesting and useful for both regions: training, advanced training, joint scientific projects, field work, organization of joint international contacts, access of scientists to unique facilities, exchange specialists and information.
  
The sides exchanged views on the plans for further cooperation. So, Igor Kolodeznikov said that the Academy of Sciences of RS is currently working on the compilation of the scientific work "The History of Yakutia", the encyclopaedic dictionary of Yakutia, the study of electric currents in linear structures, and  seismotectonics of Yakutia. " At the same time, Zurab Japua said: "To be honest, I see similarities with us, therefore, despite the enormous distance between our republics and academies, I believe that there are common points of contact where we can achieve real results".
