The country's leadership honored the memory of Sergey Bagapsh

<i>Five years have passed since the death of the second President of Abkhazia Sergey Bagapsh.</i><br>

Lana Tsvizhba.</b> President Raul Khadjimba, First Deputy Prime Minister Shamil Adzynba, Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary Ambassador to Abkhazia Semyon Grigoriev, members of the public, scientific and cultural figures of the country, the students honored the memory of Sergey Bagapsh in Dzhgyarda village, Ochamchira district. <br>

 Opening the memorial service, Acting head of the Administration of Ochamchira District Hrips Jopua said: "Five years have passed since the death of prominent state and public figure Sergey Bagapsh. Our people remember the merits of Sergey Vasilievich. He led the country in difficult times. His name is associated with the recognition of Abkhazia. Sergey Bagapsh will remain forever in the hearts of people".<br>

 Remembering Sergey Bagapsh, Russian Ambassador to Abkhazia Semyon Grigoryev stressed: <br>
 "In Russia, his name is associated with the recognition of Abkhazia by the Russian Federation, with the events of 2008 and the next steps for the establishment and strengthening bilateral relations. With the direct participation of Sergey Vasilyevich there were concluded the first basic treaties and agreements between Russia and Abkhazia, including an agreement in 2008 on friendship, cooperation and mutual assistance". The diplomat pointed out that all the agreements have become the foundation of our present union. <br>

 According to him, the relations between Russia and Abkhazia are on a new level today,  a new agreement on strategic partnership and alliance has been signed. However, the contribution made by Sergey Bagapsh can not be overemphasized. <br>

 "Sergey Vasilievich was very loved and appreciated in Russia. We all remember that Vladimir Putin came to say goodbye to Sergey Bagapsh in Sukhum. He was kind, honest, a man of great soul. So we remember him ", - summed up Grigoriev.  <br>
