The Ministry of Economy of Abkhazia received a delegation from Italy

The delegation arrived in Abkhazia to study the investment potential of the republic.

Sukhum. November 9. Apsnypress. The Ministry of Economy of the Republic of Abkhazia held a meeting with entrepreneurs from Italy.
 
 The delegation arrived in Abkhazia to study the investment potential of the republic.
 
 The Deputy Minister of Economy, Batal Tarba, welcomed the guests and thanked them for their interest in Abkhazia. He stressed that traditionally strong historical ties exist between Abkhazia and Italy.
 
 For his part, the head of the Italian delegation noted that Italy occupies the second position in Europe (after Germany) in the production of industrial equipment, and the Northeastern part of Italy is more developed in industrial terms.
 
 “We represent this particular territory. The peculiarity of the Italian industry is that we have developed small and medium businesses and, as a rule, these are family businesses. Italian businessmen are concentrated in real sector of the economy. Our delegation included manufacturers of wine, building materials, furniture, mineral water and pharmaceutical products, ”said a representative of the Italian delegation.
 
 Entrepreneurs from Italy were interested in the conditions for investors, tax environment of various business areas and features of the Abkhaz economy. They expressed interest in implementation of specific projects in the territory of Abkhazia related to cultivation of grapes, wine production, production of mineral water and other areas.
 
 Batal Tarba noted that all these areas of business are relevant for our country.
 
 “The strategy of the national economy of Abkhazia, considering its small size, is export-oriented. We create conditions for investors to localize enterprises in Abkhazia, and then from here go out to foreign markets. Abkhazia has concluded agreements on duty-free trade of goods with the Russian Federation and the Syrian Arab Republic, which allows Abkhaz enterprises to sell products in Russia and Syria without paying import customs duties, ”- explained Tarba.
 
 In turn, the Deputy Minister of Economy Zaur Gulia noted that a number of benefits for investors are provided in Abkhazia and has been created the most comfortable legal framework. Also, in order to attract investments there has been created a State Investment Agency, which will contribute to implementation of the outlined business ideas.
 
Inar Gitsba, director of the State Agency of Investments, expressed his willingness to assist in implementation of business projects by Italian entrepreneurs at all stages. Also, SIA and entrepreneurs scheduled trips to production facilities.
