The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Abkhazia condemned the aggressive actions of the United States and its allies in Syria

 
  "The frank disregard for the sovereignty of “disagreeable” states and the fate of the people living there, demonstrated by Washington, has long been a hallmark of the US Middle East policy. Officially declaring the fight against ISIL in Syria as a priority, the United States actually encourages the armed terrorist groups operating there to undermine the efforts of the legitimate government in Damascus, to combat terrorism and further destabilize the situation in Syria, ” - the statement says.

  Abkhaz Foreign Office drew attention to the fact that "the Western coalition carries out its military actions in Syria against the will of its government and without the sanction of the UN Security Council." 
 
 “Without any legal basis for conducting military operations, the US-led coalition grossly violates the sovereignty and territorial integrity of the Syrian Arab Republic, and unceremoniously violates the fundamental norms of international law. The actions of the international coalition do not contribute to the real fight against terrorism, but only exacerbate the already difficult situation in Syria, ” - the document stresses.
 
 The statement notes: “The Republic of Abkhazia expresses full approval to the legitimate leadership of Syria in its fight against the international terrorist threat. We are convinced that the efforts undertaken by official Damascus will put an end to the rampant terrorism in Syria and bring long-awaited peace to the Syrian land. "
