The newspaper "Respublika Abkhazia" has been turned 25 years old

In September 1991, on the initiative of V.G. Ardzinba, publishing organ of the Supreme Council of Abkhazia - the newspaper "Respublika Abkhazia" started its work.

Sukhum. September 16. Apsnypress. On the eve of the anniversary the first newspaper editor Vitaly Chamagua shared memories about the release of the first issue of the newspaper "Respublika Abkhazia".
 
 Thus, according to Vitaly Chamagua, September 1991 was "very exciting" and at the same time, troublesome length of time for editor of the newspaper "Respublika Abkhazia". "Why did I worry? Everything was fine, I was 40 years old, had the experience of the party and journalistic work, gained in various positions. As for the press, had gone from a correspondent to the first deputy chief editor of the solid newspaper. It was planned to release the first issue of the newspaper on September 14 of the same year. There were many problems: not completed formation of departments, not agreed the final schedule of edition release, palpable lack of office equipment ... "- said the first editor.  

  Chamagua noted: "Probably, it does not happen in other way, if the printed edition of the national scale is re-created from the very scratch".  

 As Vitaly Chamagua recalls, troubles appeared when the project started. "Some polygraphists balked that they would not publish a newspaper whose editor is Abkhazian. It was clear with whose voices "sing" workers. What a shame to listen to this in my fatherland. Then the problem was decided, were found other polygraphists", - Chamagua told.  
 
But there were joys as well: "We were given a great room. Under the patronage of our founder, Vladislav Ardzinba, we became the owners of two floors in the building of the former Municipal Party Committee. It only remained to complete the preparatory work faster and begin producing publishing organ of the Supreme Council".
