According to the voting results, the draft law was adopted in the first reading.
Sukhum. February 25. Apsnypress. At the session of the National Assembly of Parliament of the Republic of Abkhazia, the deputies adopted the draft law “On declaring incomes and expenses of property and property obligations of public servants and deputies”.
Presenting the bill, MP Astamur Logua noted that the issue of income declaration had long been raised in the society, and President of Abkhazia proposed to adopt it in his annual Message to the Parliament. “The public also appealed to us with a request to adopt a bill. A corresponding commission was created in Parliament. I suggest that colleagues adopt the draft law in 1 reading, with subsequent modifications in subsequent readings, ”- he said.
Parliamentary Speaker Valery Kvarchia also stressed the importance of the bill: “The country already has a law on the judiciary, the judges declare their income and expenses. Each candidate for deputy and presidential candidate declares his income before the elections. This draft law will be a good help to the anti-corruption law. "
The representative of President in Parliament, Dmitry Shamba, supported the adoption of the document in the first reading. “However, if changes in the criminal procedural legislation are not made to its development, it can repeat the fate of the anti-corruption law,” - he noted.
At the same time, Aslan Bzhania, a member of the Committee on Economic Policy and Reforms, reminded: “The Law on Countering Corruption does not work for a number of reasons. But society understands that officials are abusing their powers. We need to take other bills, make changes. This task will be performed constantly. "
According to the voting results, the bill was passed in the first reading by 28 votes in favor.
