The Town's Assembly Chairman Konstantin Piliya congratulated employees and veterans of the media of Abkhazia on their professional holiday.

The letter reads in part:

The profession of journalist – is one of the most prestigious and sought in our community. Your word, written or spoken, is a powerful tool. Today, therefore, of particular value are your qualities as activity, indifferent, objectivity, dedication.

Along with the Internet in our society are still in demand newspapers and television. For us, dear journalists, you are a reliable source of timely and objective information.

In the Assembly of Sukhum the deputies establish business contacts with the media. You are helping to put into practice the principle of openness of all organs of state power and local self-government. I hope that in future our cooperation will be more constructive and successful.
