Sukhum. June 13. Apsnypress. The Embassy of the Russian Federation in the Republic of Abkhazia commented on the results of voting in the UN General Assembly on the Georgian draft Resolution on Refugees.
  
 The comment says:
  
 "Yesterday the UN General Assembly for the 11th time voted on the draft resolution on refugees imposed by the Georgian delegation. The overwhelming majority of UN member states have long ceased to understand this idea. And it is obvious that even those who voted "for" the notorious resolution of the country did this purely automatically, from artificial politicized solidarity with Tbilisi. After all, everyone understands that these resolutions will not bring any practical results. And they can not bring it, because the conflicts of Georgia with Abkhazia and South Ossetia have for many years, if not decades, been of an interstate nature and need to be settled on the basis of universally recognized norms and principles of international law, and not continuing the unfounded propaganda of Saakashvili's time.
  
 The question is: how can one submit to the UN the issues that, according to the logic of the Georgian side, are relevant to the sovereign territories of Abkhazia and South Ossetia without inviting the representatives of these republics to the General Assembly?
   
 By the way, taking out the drafts of pseudo-documents that have been politicized and far from the realities of modern life at various international venues, Georgia thereby recognizes its own inability (or reluctance?) to finally resolve the problems of its own refugees. We wonder where the millions of dollars and euros generously allocated 10 years ago by western sponsors of Tbilisi for the needs of refugees and so-called displaced people ...
 
 In conclusion, a few words about the statistics of voting. In this year, 81 delegations voted in favor, against - 16, 62 - abstained and 34 - did not participate in the voting process. Last year, accordingly, these figures were: 80, 14, 61 and 38. Even if one does not succumb to the temptation to simply follow the dynamics of the voting "pro" and "against", it is obvious to everyone that the total number of non-voting "for" Georgian projects constantly exceeds 100 states, which is much more than the number of supporters of Georgian propaganda. This confirms the thesis about the reluctance of the Georgian side to conduct a businesslike and constructive conversation about the prospects of political and legal normalization of relations with its neighbors. This way leads to nowhere. "
