Thomas Hammarberg visited regime object of the RA MIA

The MIA of Abkhazia held a meeting of the agency management with co-chair of the Human Rights at the Geneva discussions, Thomas Hammarberg, and political adviser to the EU Magdalena Grono.

 Participants of the meeting discussed a number of questions about the conditions of detention of persons in custody, forms and rules of operation of regime objects, conditions of prisoners, juvenile offenders and women. In addition, they talked about the rights and restrictions of prisoners under regime established by the Act.
 
 International representatives visited the temporary detention facility of the Interior Ministry. Mr. Hammarberg familiarized with the conditions of detention, where he had the opportunity to personally interact with the untried, to assess the situation as a whole. The guests also visited a number of cameras and inspected the infrastructure of specialized agency.
 
Thomas Hammarberg thanked the participants for such a comprehensive and information-rich conversation.
