Unsolved problems with garbage have an environmental risk

"We have an environmental time bomb", - said the RA President Raul Khajimba at a public meeting in Gudauta district.

According to him, the major concern of the state is the regional landfill and the whole system of collection and disposal of solid waste. Resolution for this problem has an environmental risk, as well as a threat to public health. In the city and throughout the region almost there are no dumpsters, garbage truck - one, as a result, organized dumps. "We have an environmental time bomb", - said Khadjimba.

But this problem will be solved. The investment program to promote socio-economic development in the years 2015-2017 will allocated 340 million rubles on issues and disposal of solid waste throughout Abkhazia. Also 150 million rubles are provided for the construction of sewage treatment plants and sewage systems in the town of Gudauta.

The President praised the initiative of the youth area, which has undertaken their own efforts to restore the purity of the city. In this regard, he told an anecdote about migrant scavengers who, in response to the statement that it was not his land, Abkhazia handed a broom, "Then he and clean their land". "The initiative has already found support of the citizens of Gudauta and followers across the country.
