 Opening the meeting, Vladimir Putin stressed: "Together we celebrate the decade of recognition of the Republic of Abkhazia by the Russian Federation. This is an important, if not to say, historical event in the life of the republic and not unimportant for the Russian Federation. "
   
 At the same time, President of Russia noted that over the past years much has changed in Abkhazia from the point of view of building bilateral relations, interstate relations have strengthened. "We attach great importance to our cooperation in ensuring the security of the Republic of Abkhazia. This also applies to cooperation in the field of armed forces, and cooperation through the border services. The work is organized quite effectively. After our previous meeting, when you drew attention to some problems related to the need to increase the capacity at the border, the situation changed for the better. I hope that we will continue to move in the same direction, strengthening the external outline and bureaucratic work at the checkpoints between the Republic of Abkhazia and the Russian Federation. We continue to increase our interaction in the economic sphere, in the development of infrastructure, " - Vladimir Putin said.
 
 For his part, Raul Khajimba thanked for the invitation on the eve of celebration of the 10th anniversary of recognition of independence of the Republic of Abkhazia by the Russian Federation. "Recognition of our country is the embodiment of the age-old dream of our people and, undoubtedly, an important event for us.

 Today, more than 130 bilateral documents have been signed, which allow us to resolve issues in various areas. These are issues of socio-economic development of Abkhazia, the creation of a single defense contour, and cooperation in the sphere of foreign policy. There is a coordinated work with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Russia. It should be noted that after the signing of the Treaty on Alliance and Strategic Partnership, the situation became completely different. I would like to work even more intensively, in particular, on issues of socio-economic nature and foreign policy, in the sphere of defense and security. "
