Vyacheslav Chirikba about the incident on the Abkhaz-Georgian border: I hope there will be an exchange of documents in Gal that will help the investigators
Foreign Minister Vyacheslav Chirikba spoke on the results of XXXVI round of Geneva Discussions on Security and Stability in Transcaucasia at a press conference.

Sukhum. June 28. Apsnypress. Irena Dzhopua.  Foreign Minister Vyacheslav Chirikba at a meeting with reporters said that the agenda of the Geneva formed two main questions: Georgia's resolution at the UN General Assembly, which called for the return of refugees to Abkhazia and South Ossetia and the incident on Abkhaz-Georgian border with the death of a citizen of Georgia.

"Georgia presents resolutions in the court of the General Assembly not for the first year. In the first year there were abstained from voting, but went on voting in the coming years. The total number of those who voted against the resolution is less than those who voted for", - said Chirikba.

Vyacheslav Chirikba noted that the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Abkhazia makes a lot of work to inform the delegation of the UN General Assembly, the UN Security Council. "Our message was well received, as it well set out arguments of Abkhazian position on the issue of refugees", - stressed Chirikba. At the same time, he said that in Geneva, Abkhazia and South Ossetia refuse to discuss this problem due to the fact that it made to the General Assembly by the Georgian side. "During the discussion of the issue of refugees in Geneva delegations of Abkhazia, South Ossetia and Russia leave the room and do not discuss the question, that happened again in this time", - informed the head of the Foreign Ministry.

In addition, as noted Chirikba, on July 6 in Gal, in the framework of the IPRM will be discussed in detail the incident on the Abkhaz-Georgian border. He stressed that the documents presented by the Georgian side in the case in Geneva, were "more propagandistic than informative". Georgian side represented a booklet with pictures of the deceased family. "I hope an exchange of documents that will happen in Gal can help the investigation", - said the Foreign Minister. The Minister noted that this is the only heavy incident in the border region over the past four years. "Since 2012, no serious accidents occurred. Even the number of kidnappings has decreased, and the situation is significantly improved", - he said.

Chirikba also said that the Abkhaz delegation presented in Geneva a list of 25 Abkhaz officials killed by Georgian special services in the period from 1999 to 2012. No criminal case was opened by the Georgian authorities on one of these cases. "This list is only a fraction of victims. In the next round we prepare to collect a dossier on each occasion of the murder of our people in Gal district, and present them for discussion in Geneva. These crimes have no statute of limitations, and the perpetrators must be punished ", - said Chirikba.

Also, according to the minister, there were discussed in Geneva the overall security in the region, the environment and cultural heritage.
